jokk3, I'm not familiar with games at all but Img is a burning program and not a ripper program. It won't "backup" your games for you. It can read unprotected images off your HD and build a proper image to burn to a DL blank though. We can't help you with the backingup part of your needs. Search! around and see what you find. :)

Thats not what i mean either, i know well how to backupp games and such.. what i dont know though is what this message means:

E 20:54:52 Cannot set the layer break position when burning DVD-R DL media in DAO mode.

I know verry well that ImgBurn wont backup any of my games and that not what im trying to do either, i where trying to Burn a image for Xbox360 games 7,1gig on a Verbatim DVD-R Dual Layer disc.

That would have been another check......... blank media type. We reccommend Verbs to back up DL images because they're just about the only ones that do it with a exceptional success rate. Get back to us on how the burn went using the verbs when your done. :)

 We don't recommend Verb DVD-R DL's for anything, as you cannot set the layer break position on them you either have to fanny around for ages with over complicated processes (I read it once but couldn't be arsed to try it) or else hope that the original layer break is in the same position (v unlikely)

Therefore get Verbatim DVD+R DL's and you will be able to set the layer break...

Well after reading abit further, it actually abit wierd but it makes abit sense.

This is taken out from the F.A.Q at team uderdogs page.

Q :What kind of media should I use?

A:You need to use dual layer media, we have found that Verbatim DVD+R DL is the

best to do backups on and it?s REALLY important that you use good media.

They dont say you "MUST" use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. ( I was actually using Verbatim DVD-R DL )

But further donwn inn the F.A.Q they write something about layerbreak.

Q: When I insert a backup into the XBox360 it says "Please insert this game into an XBox360".

A: You have made some mistake creating the backup. Either You have not set the Layerbreak point

or the security sector is not at the right location.... or both ;-)

And then the problem i had makes sense with the message i got, DVD-R DL's dont support LayerBreak inn DAO mode nor in that other mode. (dont have ImgBun on this computer so i cant remeber what its called)

Later today i will take a trip to the store witch sold me 10x Verb DVD-R DL and told me they would work (I did even pay 85$ for them :( )

$85 for 10 DVD-R DL's !!!! :faint:

Yeah I would take them back and get your dollars back, then check out the topics in Chat about cheap Verbatim DVD+R DL's you should be able to get 20 for far less than that....

Yes i know it was a pure rip-off, but its one of the few shops inn Norway witch sells them inn a store, else i would have to use a net-shop, and i where just so eager to try out my new "Backups" so i bought them with their word it would work.

This may sound like a thud but at a store I'm bying dvd's 10 Verbatims DL+ 4x would cost just about $90... I looked svp.co.ik and the price there currently is about 2,7 pounds for a disc... unbelievable. And VAT is included!

2.70 is about 5.5 Us $ so 10 x = 55$US

most UK members use svp, as does a few members in other countries . Not giving them a send up, but they are DAMN GOOD

so our list of recomendations reads

Dual layer VERBATIM ONLY

single layer Taiyo yuden, verbatim

supplier's SVP ( Uk and europe)

well spotted  i didnt make that clear did i . DVD +R DL are the only ones to use

DVD -R DL are about as much use as a chocolate tea pot in the summer

and the verbs for single layer really need to be the ones with MCC dye

A choccy tea pot sounds tasty as well as decorative volvo! :D
