mgrace47 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I am having problem with DL burns. Have a Sony Vaio computer with plenty of memory and ram. I am using crappy Ridata disks, but would like to use them up. Here is the latest log message. Can anyone make a suggestion? Kenadjian Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 There realy are no answers to crappy discs, you can't make strawberry jam out of shit, so to speak. Even if you successfully burn to these things, chances are you won't be able read them back. Verb +R DL's are the only ones that work right, sorry, no suggestions from me.
mgrace47 Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Do I basically hear you say that this is an error because of the disk? Can I assume that the program, burner, etc., are acceptable? Thanks for the response.
Kenadjian Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Yup, these discs are terrible, other than that just make sure you are running with the latest firmware for your drive, use Verb +R DL's, and you should be fine.
kevdriver Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 As Ken said, Get Verbs +DL! The error means the drive can't read what it just wrote, usually crappy media problem. You'll be surprized the difference good media makes.
mgrace47 Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Thanks to you both. I have the Verbs on order. Will post again after my first burn attempt with them.
kevdriver Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 We'll have everything crossed for you. ouch!
lfcrule1972 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Kev won't - he's a tart and is always "open" ! Seriously the verb DL's should sort you out as the lads above said. You can check out the Media/Drives section of this forum for comparitive scans of the Ritek dye DL's and the Verb ones... The quality scores and scans are poor on the Ritek DL discs...
