I expected to get the Verbatim answer.

I have got the latest firmware etc, but the stubborn part of me refuses to believe that the only disc that will work is verbatim. Is there anything else I can try to get it to work. I've got another 6 of these discs left so might as well try everything I can.

You retried about 7 times and the drive errored out every single time.... how much proof do you need?! :P

You even had a write failure DURING the burn!

Make something useful out of the remaining 6 and then start hunting for the best price on Verbatims.

Seriously, we don't keep going on about verbatims for the fun of it - and we gain nothing from doing so - we do it because it's the truth!

burn the rest of them with same results then beat your head against a wall for an hour ,then say to yourself maybe they're right I should try Verbatim then say no that couldn't be it burn another 10 or so again get the same results ,beat head some more do this for a week then try 1 Verbatim and watch the pain go away, just joking if you look at the drives and media forum the tests and scans pretty much say it all. When you do get some Verbs burn them at their rated speed 2.4x its the best choice for speed

PS get back and let us know how you made out

Well, I burned some more coasters while waiting for the Verbatims to arrive.

They came this morning, and guess what..... it worked perfectly.

I'll go and make some humble pie now.....

Can I have ice cream with mine please :lick: ?

Pleased to hear that the Verbs worked ok, I have tested a fair few discs along with the guys here and really nothing is as reliable as Verbatims for Dual Layers or Verb and Taiyo Yudens for single layer burns.
