Pain_Man Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I burned a disc without problems, a copy of a friend's student film project, and during the Verify process I got the error message below. I'd like to know what it means since I don't understand it. Particularly: "L-EC Uncorrectable Error". What's an L-EC error? (While I haven't watched the entire disc yet, it did load with no problems in WinDVD8 and I watched several minutes of it.) Disc: Ritek-D01-01 Burner: Plextor 760A OS: Media Center Edition 2005 CPU: Core Duo 2 E6700 2.66GHz RAM: 4GB Total hdd space: 1.2 TB As can be seen, the burn went off with no problems but the verify choked throwing out the above message. I clicked both "Try Again" and "Continue" but the only result was a repetition of the error message. kevdriver Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Painman, I believe your problem is those Ritek discs your using, there pretty crappy. Thats why your verification bummed out. Do the same burn with Verbatim and you won't have any problems........ Also, just burn the DLs at 2.4X regardless what speed the manufacturer shows they can be burn't at. Basically your drive is having difficulty reading back from the media it just wrote to.

Hi. cnotadc here, I was wondering if there is anything I can do different, to get my DVD through the: L-EC Uncorrectable stage. It goes to about 93% and stops. I'm trying to get the image off this disc unto another. A friend had this DVD for awhile and sometimes the DVD reads as a CD. What is up with that? Should I use my DVD cleaner? Please help...I hope I'm being CLEAR. Thanks.
mmalves Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Try cleaning the DVD and reading on several different drives, maybe one of them can read it.
