smurray Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Getting that error... Hit Continue, and it still burns. *shrug* Any more info you need, please ask and I'll get it to ya (if I know how....) Model: TSST Corp CD/DVDW SH-S182M Revision: SB02 Driver Date: 7/1/2001 Driver Version: 5.1.2535.0
smurray Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 Huh! Wow... And yet again, I feel like a moron... ;]~ Well, I apologize for not doing that step first! Having said that... It says that wmplayer has a handle on the CD-ROM. That ALWAYS the case? Is there an option to disable that from inside wmplayer? I looked... =[ I just have it running for the lovely mp3's. Its wmplayer 11 if that means anything. Best case... I can fix it so that wmplayer doesn't need the cd rom ever. Worst case... I just close wmplayer when burning. No biggie either way!! Thanks! =D
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Getting a better player (WMP is rubbish) and playing your mp3s from HD instead of CD/DVD would solve this problem, wouldn't it?
dontasciime Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I never use mp think mine is either 9 or 10, not sure if this will fix the imapi or whatever handle it has, goto options plugin and untick nero fast cd burning. maybe untick windows cd burning on the drive as well If that does not work then remove plugin from media player plugin options goto copy music tab as well and untick copy cd when inserted or whatever it says. Also goto the devices tab and check properties on the dvdrw untick cd recording which is what i meant above by Windows cd burning. One of those surely has to work Maybe try what i posted in november as they never came back to say whether that worked or not as i never get the error after doing the above and i barely used media player anyways.
smurray Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 I actually like WMP11.... The library mainly. I know that winamp has a library too, but its so tedious compared to WMP, and the information updates that it does for most tracks makes it enjoyable to use. Not that this is a WMP vs other thread... *shrug* Oh... And how can I burn a CD and use it to listen to music at the same time? ;]~ I have a file server I store all my music on, and listen to it via that way... =] As far as the last option. Nero fast cd burning is an option, but it was already unchecked. I looked for the windows burning, can't seem to locate that. Wouldn't it be the CD-ROM's properties? Ah well... I don't burn too often to be perfectly honest, so next time I have to burn something, I do some playing around. Thanks guys! =D
dontasciime Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 (edited) yeah any dvd writer or cd writer / right click / properties etc and recording tab then untick Edited February 3, 2007 by dontasciime
swante Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Anyone who has found a solution to this problem ? I have the same thing, and it is driving me crazy that I can't find where to disable the function that makes wmplayer.exe autostart....
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I have the same thing, and it is driving me crazy that I can't find where to disable the function that makes wmplayer.exe autostart.... Right click on the drive in Windows and select properties and then the autoplay tab.
dontasciime Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 or turn it off by start/run and type gpedit.msc. follow pictures and apply
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 tweakui is also quite useful for that (and a lot of other things!). http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
