polopony Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 the discs you're using Ritek F1 are not that good get some Verbatim + or - or some Taiyo Yudens Verbs are easier to get in stores Yudens on line.Try new media first its cheaper than getting a new drive that error is usually hardware related you can Google it and do some reading
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 That error is from READING the file that's on your HDD, not burning. So the issue here is with your hard drive and it's setup. That said, your discs are still awful. Try following the post in the FAQ about fixing DMA issues. I'd also give the hdd the once over with chkdsk and check there are no errors. Have chkdsk scan for bad sectors by using the /R switch. i.e. run the following from a command prompt window: chkdsk f: /F /R /X
rabid Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 Thanks Lightning. Looks like my HDD is hosed, can't even transfer the file to another drive. Burn was successful from another drive.
