Little help please?

Hello all,

I am pretty new to this and i just started using this program.

Today i decided to give it a couple trys. Everything seemed to work perfectly but when the burn was completed, i noticed that nothing was burnt to the disc. It wouldnt play on the computer or my dvd player which is capable for almost everything.

I tried 2 times and the first time i thought it may have been the disc so i tried another disc and got nothing also. I used a Phillips and an old Memorex i had laying around, both DVD-R

Any help is appreciated

I cancelled initially because i forgot to change the write speed but re-started right after that.

Uncheck the box that says Test Mode. When using Test Mode nothing gets written to the disc.

Oh and don't cancel a burn once it has started!

 

You were lucky test mode was enabled that time or you'd have just made yourself a nice coaster!

You might want to look at some better media as well. Prodisc are rubbish. Get some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media.

Do they really only support 2x write speeds or is a firmware upgrade in order ? Mmm I love drives like yours, rpc1.org doesn't even list that drive and when I did a Google I found a few posts about fw's not being available and eventually one that listed the same fw as you have so I guess it must just be crap media.

On another crappy note, the one that did burn after i unchecked test had no sound???? But after realizing it it was only the previews. Then i did another burn and it was the correct file but there was an error message 96% through.

 

Is there something small im missing for the sound issue?

it may be rated to write up to 16x but the firmware for the drive only supports those discs (and they are crap ) at 2x and only 2x you might choose what ever speed you want but the write strategy is for 2x. To straighten out your problem start with good media Verbatim or Yuden like has been posted above and go from there its no good trying to get a perfect disc when you start with poor media . You have to match your media and drive for compatibility then burn the discs at one of the supported write speeds that the firmware supports .The sound issue may be a few things possibly the audio on the disc is not supported by your player ,but untill you start with good media who knows it may be all media related

Good idea. Throw the Prodisc in the bin. You're better off just cutting your losses and buying quality media like Verbatim than trying to solve problems that are caused by bad disks. All of us here have learned the hard way.

you need to ascertain that there is sound in your source file , use winamp,vlc media player,windoze media player or media player classic .

ImgBurn will burn what its presented with, so no audio in the source usually means no audio in the end result.

 

another possibility is that your player does not like these discs , yes, it is a balancing act between decent media your burner likes and decent media your standalone player likes as well

 

when you posta log file, you need to post all of it. your last one has been cut short

If there's sound in the ISO there'll be sound on the disk. Are you sure you've selected the correct audio stream for playback before burning to DVD? For example, you may have set DTS audio instead of 5.1ch audio. Not good if your player doesn't support DTS.
