Yep. Your media is rubbish. :) Get some Verbatim media.

I now own 50 Maxwell DVDRs and 25 Memorex DVDRs. It has worked in the past burning on the Maxwell CD. Any tips on how to get around this so I don't waste all these CDs. Why is it some some images will burn and yet others won't?

Posted

some will burn and some wont its the consistency of the media good stuff works all the time 2nd or 3rd class media is hit and miss ,you could get 10 good burns and think this is great media and then the next 20 bomb out .The Beta Members have done their homework and tested all sorts of media you can see it in Drives and Media forum I dont think there are any of us that dont use either Verbatim Taiyo Yuden or both ,bad media accounts for about 75% of the errors we see

You can try to burn to the remaining discs you have left you will probably get some good burns but think of all the hedaches you'll have and the time wasted and will they play in a couple of months. The price of excellent media is not that much different from the cheap stuff and if you keep getting errors then the price you paid for the few good burns you get makes good media cheap by comparison

The problems aren't your images. It's the media. A better question would be to ask the manufacturer why their media is hit and miss. Brand names like Memorex or Maxell mean nothing. The important bit is the dye used. The good thing about Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden (and the reason why we've been banging on about them for years) is that they are consistently excellent quality. ProDisc (which you have) are rubbish. Either throw them out and buy some quality media or continue using crap which will either fail to burn or verify. Your choices are fairly simple.
