mattie711 Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hi. I am new to burning dvd's. I have burned 3 dvd's with no problem but the last few I have burned start to skip 30 minutes into the movie. I can play these dvd's on my PC just fine but when I put them into my dvd player they get chopped up. I even tested them on a friends dvd player, the same thing. It starts off with little squares flashing and then more squares and then it starts to skip. Any suggestions. I don't know if you need this but here is the log from my last burn. blutach Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I 19:31:28 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 8x, 12x, 16x) Yoo Hoo! Search the forums. There will be maybe 5,000 posts recommending not to use this media and to only use Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens. Surprising to see it verified, actually. Regards
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 It looks like you have DMA problems somewhere. Both your burn and the verify are averaging out at around 2.0x speed. Follow the post in the FAQ about fixing DMA issues.
mattie711 Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 I will buy some Verbatim's today and see if that works. Thanks P.S. Any reason why the DVD will play all the way thru on my pc without skipping but not in my DVD player? -Mattie-
graham23s Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 PC Drives are made to play pretty much everything, it's the dvd players that are picky lol Graham
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 PC Drives are made to play pretty much everything, it's the dvd players that are picky lol Graham Err... almost. It's the other way around.
mattie711 Posted February 17, 2007 Author Posted February 17, 2007 Thanks! The Verbatims worked like a charm. I have burned 10 so far and they play back beautifully!
