Shake N Bake Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I am new to all of this, so could you help me out here? I ripped my dvd and went through dvd shrink and now I can't burn or write the dvd. I put in my blank dvd and it says logical unit in process of becoming ready. Then it says medium not present - tray closed. That's all i got. On the right side it says TSSTcorp CDW/DVD ts-H492C GA01 (ATA) Current Profile: N/A. I don't know if any of that means anything or not.
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Welcome. On the right side it says TSSTcorp CDW/DVD ts-H492C GA01 (ATA) I don't know if any of that means anything or not. It sure does. You have what's called a combo drive. It can read from CDs and DVDs but it only burns to CDs. You need a drive capable of burning to DVD. If you decide to grab a new drive (which you need) I suggest buying a Pioneer 111 as it's a fast and reliable beginners drive.
dontasciime Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Don't feel bad it's a common mistake. I would second the Pioneer 111 as a cheap good choice for your burner.
