kevdriver Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 dregus.......... Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-D03-01) (Speeds: 2.4x) This media is not the best at all. It has been causing havoc all over this forum as of late, just read some of posts. Get some Verbatim DVD+R DLs and give the burn a try again. Also you should upgrade your 111D to 1.29 firmware from your present 1.23, and leave all Img settings on default.
lfcrule1972 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Is someone selling these Riteks on a special somewhere ? As kev said they are all over the forum at the moment....
dontasciime Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 If everyone would just stop buying all the crap ones, you would think or rather hope manufacturers would realise up the quality before they go broke
lfcrule1972 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 It's never happened to CMC MAG tho has it ?
dontasciime Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Speaking of CMC seems the 1635s really likes em. see what benq1650 scans em like
polopony Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 maybe they've gotten wise to the crap they were putting out and changed
kevdriver Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 @ Donta....... WOW! Great scans from CMC MAGS. How did the scans do with the 1650.
dontasciime Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 The liteon has no jitter. benq scans 1st a flashed 1650-1655 BCDB 2nd in 1650 BCIC Thing about all the benq 1650's I have is they seem to spike at just after 1 gig and around 2 gig on a few brands of disc's not written on benq. I will not be trusting anything very important to these disc's and will be treat as throw away items Another thing then benq 1650 BCIC is connected Via firewire as i ran outta usb ports, not sure if this has just happened but after switching to 1394 dvdinfopro cannot initialise the 1650 connected via firewire now. Using latest firmware in Enclosure, will maybe drop back a firmware after connecting it back to USB as it seems firewire cannot upgrade or even read the rom from enclosure.
kevdriver Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Donta, agree with you on not trusting these discs to anything important, yet I'm still kinda shocked at the apparrent quality of these discs, at least right after a fresh burn. Wonder if they will hold up over time........ I'll be sticking to the verbs never the less.
dontasciime Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I will only be burning them in any of my 1635s as they like em. The firewire issue i am having with pl3507 benq1650 and dvdinfo pro it's working after downgrading firmware in enclosure but not exactly as it should, if i change drive in drop down and come back to 1650 it hangs, not sure if this is dvdinfopro, firewire, or a driver issue. It detects fine in ImgBurn if i change destination device as many times as i want. Will leave it for now until a clean install to rule out driver corruption.
