duckbill Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Tried ImgBurn today. Looks good to me! ImgBurn 2.2.0.0 Have a Sony DW-D23A drive, probably on factory firmware. (Apparently a rebadged Lite-on.) Tried cutting a double layer DVD Video disc using RiDisc DVD+R DL 2.4x media, directly from a set of source files. All went through fine until it came to finalising, when we started getting error codes returned by the drive (can't remember the error now), and generated a coaster. The Sony drives don't seem to get a good rep so I am suspecting that the DL functionality is a bit marginal. Am considering getting a more modern drive of a better brand. Pioneer perhaps? Tried cutting a 4 gig ISO on to one each of Taiyo Yuden DVD+R 16x and Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 16x, and both were fine.
lfcrule1972 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 The drive sounds ok on the decent media - if you want to burn with Dual Layer discs only buy Verbatim DVD+R DL's, they are the only ones that burn consistently well Welcome to the forum
