phisherman16 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I'm using a Lite-On DVD+RW SOHW-822S burner and I have upgraded the latest firmware (VPPE). I'm using verbatim DVD+R DL 8X discs. I have yet to get a burn to finalize should I get some verbatims that are 2.4X only or is there something that my log shows? I have read everything in the FAQ and tried all setttings I could think of, still no luck. My dvd burner makes single layer dvd's and cd's fine consistantly. Is my drive just shit for dual layer burning or on its last legs perhaps? Thank you to the fellow DVD junkies for any and all help. ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.2.0.0 - Log ; Tuesday, 27 February 2007, 23:43:32 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 22:20:35 ImgBurn Version 2.2.0.0 started! lfcrule1972 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Mmmm it does appear that your drive doesn't like these DL discs and they are the best you can get ! I am not an expert on the filter drivers so you will have to wait for someone else to look at them and see if that might be giving you hassles.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 You could indeed try the 2.4x ones. I prefer them to the 8x version anyway. That said, the drive (and the 8 series in general) is pretty old now, now might be a good time to start looking for a different one.
