bruceg Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hi, I just wanted to report a strange problem I had using imgburn 2.2.0.0 (actually the first problem I've ever had with the program, as it has been extremely reliable). I am using a Pioneer dvr-111d internal writer on a windows xp sp2 machine. I was trying to burn a dual layer .iso file onto a Verbatim dvd+r dl 8x disk (at the lowest speed 2.4x). In the middle of burning, I cancelled and it took a long time to finally abort (was finalizing the disk). After it finally aborted, some very long 'XML' error message popped up (sorry I can't be more specific - should have copied the contents), and my system froze. The strange part was that after I rebooted my system, imgburn never functioned properly again. One time it stopped right in the middle of burning and froze (apparently imgburn stopped communicating with the os/device drivers). Another time it burned a coaster. That 'xml' error message reappeared as well. I finally fixed the problem by re-installing my OS from scratch (now imgburn runs perfectly again). Lesson I learned was not to cancel the burn right in the middle (especially with a dual layer disk) =) BruceG
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 The XML thing sounds totally unrelated, ImgBurn doesn't have anything to do with XML, nor XML with ImgBurn. Cancelling the burn is fine (besides wasting a disc). You had deeper problems that reinstalling seems to have fixed.
