Disc not empty

JOHNM

Recommended Posts

Am using brand new Verbatim Double Layer DVD+R discs.

I want to burn a video from my hard drive. Can follow the support forum instructions for burning the video fine - but when I insert the blank DVD IMGBURN comes up with the message "Disc not empty" - and I'm stopped in my tracks. I've now tried 3 brand new discs with same results.

Any suggestions?

copy + paste what it says in the info panel on the right.

Sorry - but which info panel on right? I cannot see anything at all 'on the right'.

What's with the PM message under? Did I do something I shouldn't have :unsure:

Perhaps I'm being ultra dim tonight!

When you're in Write mode etc, there's a window on the right of the main form (window) that get filled with lots of info about the disc.

So just start the program, put one of the problem disc in the drive, wait for it to say 'disc not empty' in the status bar and then copy + paste all the info from that window.

That's the problem, your drive doesn't think they're empty.

'Complete' should actually say 'Empty'.

That's a value returned directly from the drive, not something I'm making up as a result of certain tests or anything.

Try getting some of the 2.4x verbatims instead, it would appear your drive doesn't fully support the 8x ones.

Many thanks for your help.

I've successfully recorded onto Verbatim DVD-R, 4.6GB 16x

I'll try the 2.4x, and also ask the computer manufacturer (Evesham) why the Toshiba drive won't cope with the 'Complete' discs.
