gab Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) Hello everybody, I have play back problems with my videos burnt with ImgBurn and a Philips DVD8701 on my Dell 9100 (freeezes, stuttering,...). I read in this forum that this burner can be crossflashed with the Benq 1640 firmware which is much better than the Philips one. So I downloaded the firmware and tried to update my drive. But the firmware updater tells me that my drive is not allowed to be updated. Is there a trick to overcome this ? Gab [Edit] I found a thread on another forum which explained how to. It worked all right, and now I am going to test my brand new Benq. Sorry for this post, I had never "crossflashed" before. Edited March 9, 2007 by gab
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 If there is, you'll be able to read about it at the cdfreaks forum. http://club.cdfreaks.com There's a section for optical drives and then a subsection for BenQ drives.
