It's hard to tell anything with a verify/read graph with that drive, the burn has to be really bad before the LG will

even stumble or slow down with the read?

Friendly Tip: Use PNG when you do screenshots, JPG is huge and looks awful.

Will do LUK.

B4 i joined up with the forum here didnt ever bother with the Print Screen button. Been so useful of late

esp in combo with Photoshop which i recently installed. Same goes for imgburn as well. Gav up on burning

dvd media about a year in a half ago because i became frustrated with the process. Blissfully unawre of

the importance of good media & Imgburn :) . Amz what u can do with a little research, peserverence and help from forums like this :)

Burners, firmware & media -oh my-

Should be the mantra for this site lol

Not so. The drive quite often will kick down if it needs to.

I haven't seen the BenQ 1640 around for ages, if you can get a DW1650 or DW1655 if you want lightscribe. I think Del-Boy Donta had some for sale a while ago, not sure if he shifted them all tho.

Posted (edited)

Might send donta a pm and see about that. Its not urrgent as im actually very contented with my LG.

Blutach, your into your LG writers arent u? Think i recall reading about your frustrations with the bitsetting

resetting each time the pc shut down.

If i dont pick up a benq Might go for the lg h222n as there still easier to find. Like the 1640 it has great results with burning sl & dl's disks.

Viewed some Plexors selling on ebay for over ?50. Not familar with that brand.

Expensive even for an oem product. WHat gives....

I,m not selling any of my 1650, I never sell anything i buy even when i buy 5 of them, he's winding you up.

you may still be able to get one though as pcworld have them or had them for 24.99.

will have a look to see if they still got some and let you know.

Update includes a PiPo scan in the first post (at the top).

Next update will include results for Verbatims 2.4x DVD+R DL [MKM-001-00] media.

Might seem a little redundant providing scans for a dvd drive thats been on the market

for 2 years now but i was always slightly dissapointed that i couldnt find these

results in the Media section for my LG GSA 4163b.

This is for all the those other LG users out there who couldnt sleep at night either :)

Scans are purely for Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim media only. Know that might be somewhat

lacking but i m only interested in media that is recommended for my drive.

Added:

Will include results for Verbatim 4x DVD+R DL at some point.

Also plan to purchase some Taiyo Yudens 16x DVD-R SL with results to follow.
