Backup Dual Layer Directly to DVD?

Is there any way to backup a dual layer DVD directly to a dual layer burner? I have two drives. Do I always have to read the data before burning it?

If it is unprotected (video or data), you can use Read mode to make a 1:1 copy then Write mode to burn. If you are seeking on-the fly (risky) copying, then, I don't think ImgBurn can do this.
