Failed to Read Sector 1 - Logical Block Address out of Range

So I'm using ImgBurn Version 2.3.0.0 with a samsung SH-S182D burning on TYG02 discs. The burn completes just fine, the verify fails on the first sector (see below). When I cancel out of ImgBurn, and start it up again, it sez the disk is empty [Nero thinks it's empty too, but fails on it]. I've tried uninstalling and installing ImgBurn, and get the same results.

However NeroExpress works fine with the same drive and media.

Any ideas?

It looks like the drive is producing duff burns and is unable to reinitialise the disc properly after ejecting / reinserting it.

This sort of stuff is beyond the control of software. The drive just isn't doing what it's told.

The issue seems to be that the samsung SH-S182D has issues with DVD-R. Apparently the leadin is written improperly, and the drive can't read the discs it has written on certain media (whereas the work are readable with my Sony DVD player).

Back to the store the drive goes.

Thanks for your help,
