stilgar Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Need some help. I have a memorex 16x DDL drive...it has the latest firmware (i checked). I use verbatim DL disks (per the advice here and elsewhere) I have the latest copy of imgburn. Yet when I try to burn a disk, the burn works fine, but the verify fails 90% of the time. Very frustrating. Any advice appreciated! Stilgar

stilgar Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 Yes....even at the slowest speed.... Have you tried burning at a slower speed?
dontasciime Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 only write at 2.4x as the log you posted was from an 8x burn can only take your word for it that you tried lower speed, as you say you have the latest firmware, there is not much more you can do. You may have a batch of verbs that are not good, slim odds on that but suppose it could happen. See shop(company) you bought it from to see if you can swap it for a pioneer 112, tell them it's failing to write to very expensive verbatim dual layer media. Have you got something else running like anydvd or dvd43 or any other util that accesses drive ?
stilgar Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Nothing else running that I am aware of. Windows always runs various crap in the lower right but I dont think any of it accesses the DVD. I have tried a burn at the lowest speed. I will try again and post that log.... Stilgar
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 To be honest, if you can burn them and they play, I'd have to say your drive is just playing silly buggers. If that's a real DVDROM you have listed there in the log and not a virtual drive, do the burnt discs work in it? Do the burnt discs EVER work in your burner, or just not straight after a burn? Oh and be sure to update to 2.3.1.0 before trying any more!
