dontasciime
Only thing you can do is see what that drive is like with verbatim mcc discs or taiyo yuden You have the latest firmware but you are not alone with problems with this drive. Maybe replace drive or build a usb2 external drive with one of the newer Liteon writers. As well as that the ISO your trying to burn will be very close to the full capacity and extremely close to the edge of the poorest quality part of any media (outer edge) and may fail to write/read back etc after or during burn. Either shrink it a bit more by removing subs/ 2 channel audio or in shrinks options limit output to 4300 instead of 4464mb

I will try to run a test with a smaller file - I was under the impression that the media and drive I was utilizing, coupled with the reduced writing speed would hace filtered out the obvious errors... OK - I'll limit to 4.2GB and see what happens.... Cheers again for the input!

ThaiMantra
I'm using TDK DVD-R Are they not good quality?
Shamus_McFartfinger
The brand name is immaterial. The important bit is the media ID which you can find in your logfile. I 22:12:36 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: TTH02) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

blutach
Err Shamus me mate. That site actually lists those disks as top quality. They might actually be 2nd tier, but I don't think they are all that bad (not that I use them). As donta said, the drive has a pretty poor rep. Shamus_McFartfinger
Sort of.. 1ST CLASS MEDIA: TDKG02, TTG01, TTG02, TTH01, TTH02 , TDK501, TDK502, TDK001, TDK002, TDK003 Taiwan, Japan DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW some outsourcing Fake DVD Media ID Guide: TTG02, TTH01, TTH02 MAM-America, MAM-Europe 2005 These are apparently "legal" fakes made by Mitsui, with permission by TDK to use the code. However the media is quite poor, not true TDK media.
