emumax Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Hi, I have a NEC 4550a setup in my computer, and then, I alwary have a DVDDecrypter / ImgBurn also install in my computer, I also use my DVDDecrypter burn a PS2 in DVD-r/+r and CD-r. (this NEC 4550a have old version a firmware is 1.08)..........#39;( Can you help me what can I do with DVDDecrypter / ImgBurn to change booktype to DVD-ROM. I have test with my NEC 4550a in any time, no help in here, I did not know weather if i change a booktype at NEC to DVD-ROM? All test are failed, I did know what can i do. if the fireware is old, where can i downlaod to upgrade it. (which firmware is well?) I am sorry, I hope you will help me, many thanks.
polopony Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 check the model number I'm not aware of a 4550A burner .Right click on the drive when you open IMGburn the last line is firmware update follow the instructions download the latest firmware flash the drive and restart the computer for it to take effect
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 NEC's only really handle DVD+R DL booktype setting when using the standard firmware. If you want it on DVD+R or DVD+RW, you need to be looking around for hacked firmware. The cdfreaks.com forum may be of use to you here.
