Burn Problem

I am new to this. I have just installed a new DVD burner a Sony AW-G170A. I follow the instructions to burn a dvd and at the end is comes up with the error message - Devise Not Ready (Medium Not Present - Tray Closed).

 

Please could anyone help?

have you connected the new drive correctly as only a cd writer is showing?
