jack Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Long story so bear with me. Just before he died my brother in law bought a cheap camcorder, it's a cheap thing out of some backstreet sweatshop in god knows where. My sister recorded some footage of her husband on it and doesnt want to lose the video of him now he's gone. The only problem is they never installed the software on their P.C. and they've lost the bloody disc that came with it, this means I cant get the video of the camera as the memory kind is like none i've seen. Does anybody know where I can get the drivers for a Maxim MX30-7000?(Yeah, I know it's a shit camera but I really need the footage off it.) Thanks for any help guys.
Altercuno Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 No easy questions on this site are there? Hi jack how you doing - enjoy Eurovision? Dunno about drivers, but that cameras being sold for ?12.50 on E-Bay if thats any use...
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 That might be a last resort, buy another one just to get hold of the software disc that comes with it. I dont think he would have bought it if he hadnt been so unwell, he was very vague towards the end. Oh yeah, I spit on Eurovision!!!!
dontasciime Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 jack should be SD for that model got a pic of card you took out of it,
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Yeah, just bear with me while I upload it. To be fair it looks pretty standard, I just dont have anything it fits in.
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 There you go, pretty ordinary but a pain if you dont have anything it fits. Oh yeah, I had a few beers last night so thats why the photo's a bit blurred..............
dontasciime Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 that is SD you got an epson printer by chance like r300
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Too big for my mobile, and I have nothing that uses SD cards anymore.
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Cheers, I've searched everywhere I can think of. Google came up with nothing.
Altercuno Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 No luck here either. Did you read that thread that went up in flames?...very funny...they all wanted to meet up for a scrap... I usually put my camcorder through the dvd recorder and record on that rather than the pc... I have 2 sd readers one on the pc & one on the printer...can video go from the printer to the pc then?...
dontasciime Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 jack you tried connecting the usb to pc yeah and because you had no driver it got no further. you tried using a Sony usb driver as in specify the hardware at driver install and pick from device and manufacturer.
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 I just cant seem to get windoze to detect the damn thing, I give up with the peice of crap!! Thanks for your help mate. I have to go out now so I will try again later. Thanks.
spinningwheel Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Jack; Couldn't find anything about the driver you need for the camera, but did find out a lot about the thing.....HERE!
jack Posted May 13, 2007 Author Posted May 13, 2007 Yeah, i'd seen that. The bastard that sold it had no problems ripping off somebody dying of cancer.
volvofl10 Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Jack just buy a cheap 8 in 1 USB card reader ( a fiver to a tenner) , then transfer to your PC
lfcrule1972 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 http://www.topeight-group.com/download.htm I take it none of the drivers above worked Jack ? Guess it would be trial and error to see if any were recognised with the camera
spinningwheel Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 I think I'd follow Volvo's suggestion and spring for one of those cheap readers.
lfcrule1972 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Would they work tho ? My concern is that the pc doesn't currently recognise the contents of the card, I don't know enough about the readers to guess if they would allow Jack to read off the files
dontasciime Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 A card reader will work, as i see it jack cannot get the usb of the cam to be recognised by PC, the SD card will be readable in card reader or Linux if the worst comes to the worst. Sorry jack ebayer did not respond as of yet anyways.
jack Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks guys, I probably will get a card reader. I wanted to get it working on my sisters P.C. so that they could use it if they wanted as well as getting the footage off the card. I will check out the link chris, thanks mate. Thanks to all that responded.
