Not able to burn DVD

Recommended Posts

I have just changed over from using DVDecrypter to using ImgBurn.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed in my system.

I am trying to duplicate a DVD - in this case it is a Dual Layer disk

Previously, with DVDecrypter, I would open the software, tell it I was doing an ISO read, and then burn an image to my hard drive.

When completed, I would then insert a blank DVD+R DL, change the setting to ISO write, and then burn the DVD from the image.

No problem. I end up with a DVD that plays perfectly on my computer or on my various DVD players.

Now, using ImgBurn, when I burn the image to my hard drive, I am choosing the mode as READ (nowhere to specify ISO).

Once the image is burned, I insert a blank DVD+R DL, change the mode to WRITE and burn the DVD from the image.

The software says I have made a successful burn, however when I insert the DVD to play into any device, it falters and splutters and plays a bit of sound and a little bit of image, but nothing that is controllable.

I am new to ImgBurn and am not sophisticated at DVD burning.

I used DVDecrypter with success - to burn DVDs from images I had created and also from images I had downloaded.

I have used ImgBurn to successfully burn images I have downloaded.

So I suspect my problem is in the creation of a DVD image.

I have not changed any settings from the defaults that were there when I installed ImgBurn.

I have tried using Nero to burn a DVD using an image created by ImgBurn - with the same final results - so again indicating the problem is probably with creating the image file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

ImgBurn doesn't copy protected discs. If that's what you're trying to do, that's why it won't work.
