blutach Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Consider a firmware update - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2034 Or you may have some bad disks or the burner may be duff. Note: The log, in text form, is available via the help menu. Regards

My money is on a duff drive: this is a replacement they sent me for the previous one. Any suggestions on what make or model to go for next? I won't bother with HP again after the hassle I had getting them to acknowledge the fault and replace the original.
blutach Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I've had great success with LG. Others swear by BENQ. Regards
LOCOENG Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 BenQ's are nearly impossible to find these days too.... Pioneer, Lite-On, Samsung, NEC...
Nameless One Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Problem sorted...with a new sparkly Samsung SH-183A. The media is OK, my system is OK and the drive burns clean. Looks like it was the HP doorstop after all.
