adamdivine Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 I have been having trouble burning DL +R discs for a few weeks. I am using RITEK media, which is crap I know, but I am getting a reproducible error at approx 53% burn every time. I am burning from .iso files. If I burn CD or DVD (non DL) everything is fine every time (never 1 bad disk). Every DL disk becomes a coaster though. If I use my other burner on a second computer with the same crap media, I get a good burn every time. Here is the log from my latest attempt: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 - Log ; Wednesday, 13 June 2007, 11:55:26 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 11:11:36 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! volvofl10 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 if your PC is a dell , then you have the latest firmware on your burner, so that narrows it down to your drive just dont like the Ritek DL media as you said, its crap, you've just been lucky that your other drive actually writes to it. Suggest you get a verbatim DL disc and try it in the 4163b drive to confirm its the ritek media thats crap .
adamdivine Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 If I get the Verbatim discs and the drive still gives me coasters, then would it be safe to assume it is the drive?
mmalves Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 If I get the Verbatim discs and the drive still gives me coasters, then would it be safe to assume it is the drive? Yes. Burn them at 2.4x for best results.
