use verbatim media only for dual layer

I've used loads of these discs and never had a problem up until now i'm using

http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=2026&prepg=1

I've also tried using my other writer which is a Tsstcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183A and get the same i/o error but at 53%

Could it be down to my something on my board and those pesky jmicron drivers

Use Verbatim once then see if you can rule out the board/ide/chipset etc.

It's a simple choice spend a little more get perfection save a few and pull your hair out.
