I means that the drive does not like the disc's cannot calibrate power to the laser to actually start the burn.

 

Do not throw away the disc as it should still be writable , just not on the writer you have, it may never write on any writer depends on the quality of the disc.

 

See if there are any firmware updates for your writer, post a log so we can see the quality media code of the media you have.

 

 

You may find you have to ditch that writer as they are not very good / have caused lots of people issues

seriously Donta right about them causing problems for many people, likewise with HP drives
