PhilJohn73 Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) I had problems with my secondary IDE channel on motherboard and it wouldn't recognize my DVD burner. I have a Syba VIA 150 PCI IDE Controller card and it is recognized. The only problem I am having now is when I use ImgBurn, I get I/O device error. This never happened until I started using my burner on this controller card. Am I doing something wrong? Here is the log. LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 The only 3rd controller cards that seem to work properly are those based on the Silicon Image 680 chipset and those on the ITE8212/8211 chipset. Even then they seem to have different versions of the BIOS, one for RAID and another often marked as 'ATAPI'. I run an ITE 8211 one in my box (with latest ATAPI bios) without any issues and it's got 4 drives on it.
