SelfSufficient Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hi, I am able to write once to some Verbatim DVD+RW disks on a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D 1.41. When I try to write over it a second time I get the following: Close track failed! /Device [0:0:0] PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D 1.41 (d:)(ata) /Reason: Invalid field in CDB ImgBurn does allow me to format the disk (where as Nero does not) - but both Nero and ImgBurn think the disk is not empty and will not allow files to be written. I would be greateful if someone could diagnose the issue. LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I 22:37:52 Destination Media Type: DVD-ROM (Disc ID: MKM-A02-00) Either the drive isn't initialising the disc properly or some other program (Alcohol / DAEMON Tools) is forcing it to look like a DVDROM. ImgBurn won't know how to handle the disc properly unless the drive correctly reports what it is.

Thanks, that makes sense - post the initial burn, other devices are reporting that it is a DVDROM - plus I do have Alcohol and DAEMON tools installed. I did close down these applications though, so am surprised if they are still manipulating the device. Will retry, perhaps removing Alcohol & DAEMON and see what happens - do you know if the discs are now caput?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 There's a setting in Alcohol / DAEMON Tools to hide writable media. Locate it in the settings and just disable it. It's also been covered before here on the forum. If you search you might find it. Closing the programs down isn't enough, it's the drivers that do the cloaking.
