mikeO Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I cannot seem to burn faster than 2x even though my drive supports 8x, and the media is 16x. It seems to be the media as the issue, but this media burns up to 6.7x on other software. I have read many posts that all media is crap and use only Verbaitim and Taiyo Yuden, but that cannot be so cut and dry. I understand about max write rates only on the outside of the disk, but with a lot of burning, 2x is slow. I think with 8x, I should be getting averages of 4 ot 5. The media in question is labeled Memorex 4.7GN 16x DVR-R. It was chosen primarily for hub printable properties. Any suggestions?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 That's all your drive and it's firmware supports on the 'CMC MAG. AM3' dye. The speeds are exactly what the drive reports, it's not something ImgBurn is making up or guessing. Check for firmware updates or buy different discs that the drive supports at faster speeds. If all else fails, get yourself a new drive.
blutach Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 And certainly new blanks. Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens. Regards
