18et Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I'm having trouble burning onto Memorex DVD+Rs on my HP DVD Writer 640b E152. I recently researched the dvd writer and realize that HP is not very reliable but sometimes it works.. a few months ago I was using DVD Flick and managed to burn a DVD with an image created by that program.. but yesterday I made another .avi movie and converted it to a burnable image and an error kept coming up during Write mode in ImgBurn. I believe it was an I/O error?? Here is the log file: I 16:53:21 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! I 16:53:22 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 16:53:22 Total Physical Memory: 1,039,660 KB - Available: 243,184 KB W 16:53:22 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 16:53:22 Initialising SPTI... I 16:53:22 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 16:53:22 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD

Try applying the latest firmware available (E223). If that doesn't solve your problem, buy better media, like Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden.
Movie Junkie Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Welcome to ImgBurn 18et. While you should always try to have the latest firmware it's just as important to use the best media available. You should use NOTHING other than Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs for your single-layer media. When you get into dual-layer media you should use NOTHING other than Verbatim and even with Verbatim use only the + not the - media.
