jillmar8 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I have been using DVD Decryptor without any problems for the last year. Yesterday I started having trouble writing dvds (below is the file). I have a dell desktop with Windows XP os. I tried reinstalling my Sonic files in case it was a problem with the burner. That seemed to fix it. After burning one ISO to a DVD, I had the same writing problem again. I downloaded imgburn and was able to copy one file. Then I got this same write error. I am using the same brand of DVDs that I have always used. I can't think of anything else that may be wrong. Thanks for any help! Jillmar8 I 11:54:56 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! Jillmar8 I 11:55:56 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) Welcome to the ImgBurn Forum jillmar8. It doesn't matter if you've been successful with the discs you are using. They are crap media. You need to use either Verbatim or TY discs for your single-layer burning and ONLY Verbatim DVD+R DL discs for your dual-layer burning. Buy some of either of the two brands and see what happens. If you are still having problems we'll try to help you out. It appears that you have the latest firmware for your drive but you should check on Dell's web site to be sure.
mmalves Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 If you still want to burn those CMC discs, try slowing down the burn to 8x, or even 4x, and maybe they'll work, but I wouldn't trust them with anything that you can't lose
jillmar8 Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 If you still want to burn those CMC discs, try slowing down the burn to 8x, or even 4x, and maybe they'll work, but I wouldn't trust them with anything that you can't lose I slowed down the burn speed and the program burned the file onto the cheap DVD. When I put it in my computer, it doesn't register and when I put it in my Apex DVD player, nothing registered. I tried burning the same ISO using Alcohol and it too wouldn't register on my computer (although it said that it completed the burn successfully). When I put the disc in my DVD player, the menu displays the Audio and Video files and I can't play the movie. Is this a new problem or is this related? Thanks for any help!
mmalves Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Is this a new problem or is this related? Still the same problem: poor quality media
