desparate verify compare errors :(

Hi!

 

First of all: sorry for my bad english, I'm not native.

My problem: miscompare errors on verify

 

What I have done so far:

- read this forum :)

- making sure no Daemon tools installed

- changed DVD drive for a brand new

- tried DVD-R DVD-RWs, Verbatim, ....

- Reinstalled Windows XP

- Used ASPI instead of SPTI, used VSO instead of SPTI, no change

 

They all fail w/ miscompares:(

 

Can you help me?

 

edit: A burn with Nero fails too when verify :(

Must be corruption somewhere along the line then.

 

Check the cable to the drive and test your computer's memory using Memtest+ or something.

 

No need for debug mode unless I specifically ask for it btw. It actually makes logs much harder to read.

Thanks for the reply.

I wil let it run memtest the whole night.

I just checked the IDE cable, but I already moved the burner on it's own dedicaded IDE channel

Any chance you would consider changing media from Optodisc to Taiyo Yuden (I know you have tried Verbatims)?

Follow up:

It did turned out to be a case of bad RAM.

I woulden't have known if Imgburn diden't give these error messages.

Funny thing is: Memtest86 did not find any errors overnight.

However going from 4 sticks to 2 sticks dual channel fixed the errors. While it does support DDR400 with 4 banks

it seems rather flaky. It did work when lowering to DDR333 (2T was always on)

Setup: AMD X2 3800, Asus A8V Deluxe

ps: those DVD-RWs are indeed cheep junk ;) but as junky as the are the now verify perfectly :)

that mobo is real picky about ram, I know, I love it tho

Overall I'm happy with the A8V, except is picky about 4 banks of DDR.
