Nylan Posted August 31, 2007 Share Posted August 31, 2007 I have read some old threads about power calibration errors, and I think I have a bad drive from what i've learned, but was hoping maybe I just have a bad batch of discs. I have a sony dru-120c updated w/ the latest firmware, I use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs (manufactured in singapour)and I always burn at 2.4x. Lately I have been getting power calibration errors, it happened to start with a new batch of Verbatim discs I bought on sale at best buy. It always happens at the begining, the end, or at the layer break. I purchased a new IDE cable today, my burner is the only IDE device connected to my motherboard. The drive is set to master, and the errors happen whether it is on the primary or secondary ide bus, although sony recommends the secondary. I was paranoid about the discs, as they were 20$ off, and the problems started on a new batch, and subconsciencely I hope for just a bad batch of discs over the more expensive drive replacement. I wanted someones opinion about if I should invest the money on a second batch of discs, or just save the money for a new drive? Thx for your time and use of these forums Attatched is a log of what is happening usually.
