uitje Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Since a week I have a new PC and I like to give ImgBurn a try but every time I burn a DVD+RW the program stops during the stage of synchronising the cache. I use a NEC AD-7170S and I get the following messages when using F8. I 18:22:59 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! I already tries to set the maximum speed to 4x instead of MAX but this doesn't solve the problem.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Looks like the drive doesn't like the dye that disc uses (INFODISC-A10-01). As you can see from the log, the drive is reporting that it's busy doing something - hence the 'Long Write in progress' message. Get some Verbatim ones instead. You can even get 8x Verbatims ones so they're better in that respect anyway

Must it be verbatims or should 8x Philips also do the job, because I don't know if I can get these verbatims discs?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 If it did everything exactly the same it would do. Different programs show different flaws. That's why some work better one minute and not the next. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the hardware/media/firmware. It's the dye that's important on the discs so if you just avoid getting anything with that infodisc dye then you should be ok. Remember the brand name doesn't really mean anything. Multiple brands can use the same dye and the same brand can use multiple dyes.
