I/O Error Failed to Reserve Track Cannot Write Medium-Incompatible Format

Hello All!!

I'm very new to burning DVDs and am getting an I/O error. I use DVDshrink but when I go to burn the movie onto a DVD using ImageBurn, I get the following error: (I have attached a print screen so maybe you can see the error)

I/O Error

Failed to Reserve Track

Reason: Cannot Write Medium-Incompatible Format

I have been able to burn DVDs in the past. It has been awhile since I have and I did get new DVD-R disks to use. You are probably going to tell me to get different disks. These are Maxell 16x DVD-R

Please help.

Thanks

your drive doesnt like those discs, it cant even read the write speeds of the disc

you could possibly try slowing the write speed down from MAX to 8 or 4 x to see if that gets round it, but i would suggest you buy some decent taiyo yudens or verbs

that drive's firmware is pretty old(google)

I would go for 8x media unless I could find a newer firmware

rather rare drive and firmware, wonder what company made the computer

my crystal ball broke?
