cheeky Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Everytime I try to burn through ImgBurn I always get this message. I use DVD Flick with ImgBurn and I always keep on getting that message. Device Not Ready (Incompatible Medium Installed). I was also wondering could it have to do with my hard drive? Maybe my hard drive is not working or broken?
mmalves Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Go to Tools/Drive/Capabilities and check if your burner supports the type of media you're using. You may also want to check for firmware updates for your burner.
Lyctor Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I had the same problem Drive Pioneer 112D 1.21. It gives this error as soon as a DVD is inserted (Verbatim DVD-R 16x certified) No log as it gives the message as soon as you start the program and it does not allow you to burn anything if you have that kind of DVD inserted. Updated the Firmware 1.22 and everything is working now.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Yeah these are drive / media / firmware combo issues. If your drive can't initialise the disc properly, you're stuck - this is where a firmware update may come in handy. Failing that, you need to get some different discs that the drive DOES like. Until they like eachother (drive -> media, at least a tiny bit!), no software can issue any commands to the drive related to accessing the media - i.e. reading from it or writing to it.
