cornholio7 Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 try updating your firmware to A306 from here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1923 you should have chosen the .dvd file and not the .iso file i believe the 2,4x discs are a more consistent disc, if you can swap those you have for the others i would
wiras Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 I updated the firmware you linked and installed it. LOCOENG Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Even though you are using the latest firmware for your drive now...it is still over three years old. Old drive and new media aren't getting along well, might be time for an upgrade in drives.

Jim44 Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 yeah maybe so but the weird thing is that i could burn without any problems before, like 2 weeks earlier. Yeah, but you said in your first post: I use Verbatim DVD+R 8.5GB 8xspeed Double Layer Advanced Azo now and when I have been burning before I used DVD+R 8.5GB Double Layer 2.4xspeed That's exactly what LOCOENG was referring to. The 8x-rated discs that you just started using are too new for your drive's firmware. So you can either go back to the 2.4x-rated ones or get a new drive. Jim

wiras Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 Yeah, I will buy 2.4x cd's tomorrow and if the problem is the same I shall tell you thx for the help.

chewy Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I was just confirming what everyone else had already said, your firmware doesn't support the 8X blanks
