Ritek D01 with LG GSA-H55N ImgBurn + Nero

Dear Sirs!

 

I did not post this to provoke anything.

 

Just, I really do not understand.

 

I have burnt 5 D01 with ImgBurn - all like the one posted.

 

Earlier i always used DVDripper, and now ImgBurn.

 

But, only the Nero supplied with the burner, produces usable results.

 

Latest burn with Nero, can post other scans burned with ImgBurn.

Here is the log. :plane:

 

Differences and comments:

 

The ImgBurn Build mode was used for the burn, Nero burns where "straight", using supplied software with burner.

 

The burner seems to be locked at 4x with D01, but I tried to slow down the burns by setting the ImgBurn speed down - still burned at 4x.

 

And, of course - the media - I just may have picked the wrong media for the ImgBurn´s - and the right for the Nero burn - from the same cake box.

4x is the only write strategy for those disc's with your burner so you cannot burn slower with any software.

 

The media you have is hit and miss and no decent quality control over what they put into the cake box.

 

If your serious about using dual layer and wanting to at least stand 99% chance of being able to read it back / archive and know the data is good then buy verbatim 2.4x

Well, D01 costs less than 1 €, so if you burn lots of DL, anything else is expensive.

 

Still strange - 5 ImgBurn´s in a row, just barely readable in the beginning, and then all other with Nero -> burns OK.

Have ImgBurn verify the disc as part of the burn.

 

It too will keep a record of read/write speeds that you can display in a pretty graph using DVDInfoPro (see the 'drives and media' forum for examples).

 

You might also like to try setting the 'Write Type' to 'Incremental' within ImgBurn's settings window - on the 'Write' tab.

 

Some weird drives can perform better using that rather than DAO.
