Mike0990 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Alright, my old DVD burner crapped out on me, so I went and bought and installed a new one that's supposedly 16x. The only problem is that I can't get it to go that fast, even though the discs/burner say they're 16x. Just wondering if there's anything fixable that would be causing this or if I just bought a crappy burner. I'm not sure if it's some kind of driver issue or something like that... it works and burns DVDs, it just takes about 40 minutes a burn. Not sure what specs to include... but if anyone could help me out I'd be very appreciative. Oh, and my device buffer constantly jumps around when I'm burning, from like 15% to 100% every second. cornholio7 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=967 read and do what it says in this post
Mike0990 Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 well it's not going at 16, but it's definitely going faster... although now I feel stupid for being an idiot and not reading the faq first, but thanks for the help!
chewy Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Using a new 80 conductor cable is also a good idea, there's usually something not quite right when a drive starts dropping into pio mode.
