Borador Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 So I have ripped an image of a professionally done wedding video using nero 7. The video loads perfectly when mounting the image on a virtual drive. I have tried burning the video twice, once using nero 7 and the other time using alcohol 120, which results in a completely unreadable disk (even in windows). It should be noted that the file itself is over 5 GB, so I am using dual layer disks. My burner is DL +R compatible so that shouldnt be a problem. I was reading on another site about ImgBurn, so I decided to give it a try, but am getting an error immediatlely about the file not being mastered for a dual layer disk (even though it was ripped from a DL disk). The log looks like this: I 14:01:53 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! dontasciime Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 bin the one you have left and get something better Taiyo yuden or verbatim with ty or mcc dye Actually scrap that your using dual layer so just get some verbatim 2.4x another actually, you would be better off splitting that to 2 single layer discs you get that used to seeing posts about that media erroring out find a program that can compress a dual layer down to single layer try using ImgBurns read mode
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Extract the files from the disc and rebuild the image using build mode. You might get a proper layer break then.
blutach Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Yeah, you may need to split a cell to get the LB possie correct. The disk as it is is not mastered correctly. Regards
Borador Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 Yeah, you may need to split a cell to get the LB possie correct. The disk as it is is not mastered correctly. Regards Yup so I have absolutly no idea how to do what you mentioned. Could you provide some insight please?
blutach Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Load your files into PgcEdit. Then click burn. After some setup, it will tell you where to split the DVD. Then use VobBlanker to do so - guide on site. Regards
digidragon Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Blu, surely he could just drag the VIDEO_TS folder from the original mounted image into ImgBurn in Build mode, which would then suggest the best layer break. That would be a bit simpler...
Borador Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Ok I got it to work. Had to use build mode to make a new image from the old one (mounted on a virtual drive). Thanks a lot everyone for the replies.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Exactly what I said in post 3 then! Hmmm should I use my invisibility to fight crime or for evil?
blutach Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 @digidragon and LUK! I was working on the premise that the LB cell would need a split. Regards
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Hmmm should I use my invisibility to fight crime or for evil? Be evil. The thought of you prancing around in a cape and red underpants (albeit invisibly) doesn't do anything for me at all. The bad guys always have the best outfits.
LOCOENG Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 LUK could wear a cape and red underpants in either scenario really.
blutach Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I just loved the title of this thread ... I'm on my last blank DVD, any suggestions. Yeah. Buy a new spindle. Regards
