i_pity_the_fool Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Possible problem here, but I can't work out what I'm doing wrong. I have an Advent 7113 laptop with Lite-On SOSw-833S (VS04 firmware). See attached error message I can't get this 6.4GB ISO to burn onto A-One DVD+R DL discs. It kicks me off before burning even starts, giving me an I/O error - write protected. Here's the log: I 12:48:53 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! kevdriver Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Imgburn is a burning app, not a ripping app. It won't remove copy protection. When you do have a unprotected image to back up, you should be using Verbatim DVD+R to burn to. They are the only ones that work consistently
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 That drive ain't real flash either from the reading I've been doing. Many, many problems with any number of firmware versions. The technical term would be "piece'o'shit". Lots of people returning this drive and getting something else.
