vwarren37 Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I am using Memorex 16x DVD+R media, but imgburn reports the supported write speeds to be 2.4x and 4x. I have tried changing the write speed for the media and the drive to 16X, but it still only records at 4x maximum. I have the newest firmware for my drive and have checked that it is running in dma mode. The problem appears to be the media description for this particular media.
blutach Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Guess your drive's current firmware doesn't support that media at its fastest rate. But chuck the media out anyway - it is inferior - and buy Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Regards
chewy Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 firmware versions can be tricky, but they don't know memorex, put a disk in, use write mode and copy and paste the right screen info into a reply(like so) until we know this it's hard to speculate
LOCOENG Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Better yet have a friend toss the discs in the air and use them for target practice with bird shot.
