Genocide Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Whenever I try and burn a Fedora Linux ISO to a DVD+R or a CD-R using my DVD burner, I get this error: I get it instantly with the DVDs but it takes about 20 minutes to appear for the CDs. The CDs stay at "writing leadin" with 0kb/s for the whole 20 minutes. Sorry I dont have a log, it takes a long time to replicate. Edited October 15, 2007 by Genocide
dontasciime Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 change media , see if there is firmware update to drive, try DVD-R. Change media again if you substituted poor media for other poor media. Try some Taiyo Yuden, or Verbatim ty media or mcc.
Genocide Posted October 18, 2007 Author Posted October 18, 2007 I have tried Memorex Dvd+Rs and Verbatim CD-Rs but they dont work. Also Windows Update cannot find new drivers for my DVD burner and my search on Google turned up nothing for this burner. I also tried Memorex CD-Rs as well but they came up with the same error.
mmalves Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Please post a log from one of those attempts (the log is saved automatically and you can find it at Help/ImgBurn logs). By the way, to check for newer firmware for your burner go to Tools/Drive/Check For Firmware Updates.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Taiyo Yuden CD-R's are the only ones I use. I never found Verbatims to be any good - or certainly no where near the TY ones.
dontasciime Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 There is a 1.11 update for your drive http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?cate...p;manufactor=38
