those ricoh disks are not very good

your burner seems to be OK tho

I already tried lowering the speed and it didnt work, The disks are the same ones I used before my dvd burner broke and they worked on my dvd player, Could it be anything else???

It's kind of hard to imagine anyone getting that old a burner as a replacement, are you sure that it was replaced when it was worked on?

That burner is about 2 1/2 years old

and that's a long time for dvd burners

have you checked older burns to see if they are still playing in your player?

have you checked the newer ones in another player?

Can you confirm that the ink/dye code hasn't been changed by the manufacturer ?( not obvious untill you check what the media ID is)

the majority of modern ( recent few years) dvd players will play -R media ,so you need to eliminate the basics first , go with what Chewy said, and try some decent 8x -R media ( Taiyo yuden or verbatim), see what happens with that
