I seem to get this every time I try to verify a write. the DVD plays well to this point on a stand alone and then approximately 7 minutes or so jumps around until the next chapter kicks in. I'm fairly certain that the layer break is causing this anomally but am interested in what the "master" thinks.

Here's a log for scrutiny;

The drive just appears to be creating a bad burn after the LB position. It's exact location isn't the issue.

Switch to using Verbatims (try burning at all speeds available - i.e. 2.4x and 4x if offered) and the problem will go away.

Verbatim DVD+R DL discs are the only ones worth using.

I appreciate your response and will try to find some Verbatims. I had purchased these Memorex ones just to try the drive out but have pretty much made a bunch of coasters at $3 a pop! I don't quite get why this happens at the LB as the rest of the DVD is really good quality even after the LB. What secret formula does Verbatim have in their ink that the other disc makers can't figure out? LOL
