burning images larger than 4.5gb as data to DVD+R DL

Hi,

Long time reader, first time poster. I couldnt find anything on what i want to do. Pretty much the same as what the topis says. I want to burn images larger than 4.5gb as data to a dual layer disc. I normally do this with DVD-Rs then mount the image off the disc. Is this ok with DVD+R DL discs?

Before i start wasting verbs trying myself, I thought Id see if anyone has done this. Does the dual layer effect the image because its burnt as data? Anything i should know about?

Thanks

I've done that and it works fine. The disc is seen as a data DVD and the layerbreak doesn't affect anything.

I'm a definite newb to dual-layer burning so please be patient. Can you tell me if this works for game images? What are the steps to do this? I am trying to make a backup image of my copy of the PC game Bioshock. I have a good image made with with UltraISO but I burnt a coaster the first time with ImgBurn. I have a Liteon DVDRW LH-20A1P and am burning on 2.4x on HP DVD+R 2.4x media. If this method won't work what would you suggest?

We do not discuss ripping techniques or anything else to do with digital rights on this forum. You can find what you are looking for on Google.

My apologies gents. :innocent:

I do own my original copy of the game and am only wanting to back it up. I understand if that is not appropriate on this forum and will not ask again. Please forgive the mistake.
