Problem changing book type on new plextor PX-800A

Hello peeps,

 

I am having some problems changing the book type on my new burner. I am trying to change the booktype to dvd-rom to burn a dvd-dl. It says "Current setting failed". Now with my old liteon this option was available for change. Somebody has some tips?

Try the NEC tab as that is rebadged NEC AD-7170A or (AD-7173) I would say (AD-7173)

Thanks for your quick respond. So I changed the booktype for the NEC. this was succesful. Now to get a clearer picture: does this autimatically change the setting for my plextor? Does my computer read the plextor as a NEC burner?

use the eeprom setting one and see if it allows it that way you never need to manually set any dvd +R DL to dvd-rom it will AUTO everyone you burn see if you get option EEPROM one
